WinOLS®,
from zero.

Every calibrator uses WinOLS. Most learn it by guessing. You will learn it by method — maps, DAMOS, Funktionsrahmen, DPF/EGR, DTC, mappack. 906 minutes. 8 chapters. Your first mappack by the end.

Sound familiar?

You have WinOLS open. Nothing makes sense.

01

The dark forest

You opened a firmware file. You see hex dumps, grids, windows, numbers. Where are the maps? Which axis is RPM? 40% of our students describe this exact first experience. Self-teaching rarely fixes it.

02

You copy what others did

You find a forum thread with “Stage 1” values. You paste them. Sometimes it works. Sometimes the car throws codes. You can’t explain why — because nobody explained the system behind the values.

03

DAMOS feels like a bluff

You heard you need DAMOS. You looked at one and saw 50,000 lines. You closed it. Most tutorials skip the real problem: DAMOS rarely matches your firmware exactly. That’s where engineering starts.

The method

Stop guessing maps.
Start reading the engineering.

WinOLS is not a tuning tool. It is a map viewer. What you tune is defined by the engineers who wrote the firmware — and they left documentation: DAMOS, A2L, Funktionsrahmen. This course teaches you to read that documentation as a workflow, not as a reference manual. By chapter 5 you identify any map by its role in the ECU, even when your DAMOS does not perfectly match. By chapter 8 you move through projects at production speed.

The curriculum

8 chapters. One mappack by the end.

From opening your first BIN to moving through firmware at production speed. Each chapter builds on the last — no skipped steps, no lost context.

Chapter 1

Reading a BIN file byte by byte

HEX vs decimal, byte addressing, 16-bit and 32-bit combinations, endianness. The fundamentals that make every WinOLS screen readable instead of mysterious.

Chapter 2

First steps in WinOLS

Interface basics, installation, loading firmware (two methods), checksums, metadata. Full vs calibration-only readouts. Picking bit-width, HEX vs decimal, endianness per task.

Chapter 3

Comparing orig vs mod & building your first maps

Navigate every change between original and modified firmware. Classify differences. Build your first maps three ways — auto-detect, guided, fully manual. Geometry, types, and how the ECU actually uses them.

Chapter 4

DAMOS, A2L, and incompatible documentation

The documentation file ecosystem — DAMOS, A2L, OLS, KP — and how to use each one. The real-world workflow: what to do when DAMOS does not perfectly match your firmware (which is most of the time).

Chapter 5

Funktionsrahmen: decoding what a map does

Any compatible Funktionsrahmen decodes most maps — regardless of ECU or firmware version. Decode a cryptic map code. Trace a map’s function through the algorithm. This is the chapter that separates calibrators from firmware readers.

Chapter 6

Removing components & reducing emission class

DPF, EGR, O2 sensor, flaps, TVA — how to remove each one correctly. When to remove vs when to keep. The calibration and DTC side of every removal.

Chapter 7

Removing DTCs from diagnostic codes

The error class (mask) and CARB (error table). How both synchronize. Why most DTC removal breaks down and how to do it properly.

Chapter 8

WinOLS power features for production speed

Configuration F12 for daily work. Desktops to manage multiple projects without losing context. Open Project dialog for a growing project database. Name, ID, and code search methods plus the Map List.

The math

The course pays for itself in your first month.

Your clients already ask for reflashing. 8 requests per month on average. Each one worth €100–€200. That is €800–€1,600/month you currently send to someone else — because you can not calibrate yet.

Your Kess, PCMFlash, and scanners cost €1,500+. Right now they sit at 10% capacity. WinOLS from Zero unlocks the other 90%.

Payback: your first month of calibration work. Compounding income from there is uncapped.

Who is this for

Built for people who already read and write ECU.

This is a calibration course, not a starter course. You should already know how to safely read and write firmware before you start here.

Button pushers ready to understand

You flash files bought from calibrators. You can not explain what changed or why. Time to stop being a middleman. You know R/W — now learn what you are writing.

Self-taught WinOLS users

You watched a dozen YouTube tutorials. You can open a project, find some maps, change some numbers. You want the system that ties it all together — DAMOS, Funktionsrahmen, workflow.

Workshop owners with calibration demand

Your clients keep asking for tuning. You have the equipment. You pay a calibrator per file. You want to keep the margin inside your shop — and control the quality of work done on your clients’ cars.

Diesel and gasoline specialists

You already understand combustion, AFR, boost, and injection. You want the firmware side next. WinOLS from Zero is the on-ramp — then Diesel or Gasoline track builds on it.

From a working calibrator

★★★★★

Eight years in chip tuning, two years with auto-map editors — and I still needed this course. WinOLS was a confusing shell full of meaningless numbers. Now I fully understand how to work in it.

Common questions

Before you enrol

“I already use WinOLS — will I learn anything new?”

If you load files, apply generic Stage 1 changes, and hope they work — yes. The course teaches engineering documentation (DAMOS, A2L, Funktionsrahmen) as workflow. You stop guessing and start identifying every map by function, not by trial.

“Do I need DAMOS files to follow the course?”

No. Chapter 4 covers working with incompatible DAMOS — how to extract map properties when documentation does not match your firmware exactly. This is the real-world workflow most calibrators never learn.

“How much time does it take?”

About 4 weeks at 1 hour per day. 906 minutes of structured video, 8 chapters, with a practical mappack project by the end.

“What if I already know WinOLS basics?”

Skip the first lessons and start from Chapter 3 (comparing orig vs mod) or Chapter 4 (DAMOS). Most self-taught students miss Funktionsrahmen workflow entirely — start there if you already load files.

“Do I get a certificate?”

Yes. Complete the course and the practical mappack project. Certificate is issued on Tuners Guild infrastructure and can be verified on certifiedtuners.com.

“What prerequisites do I need?”

Safe ECU read/write on 5–10 dumps. You should already use Kess, KTAG, PCMFlash, or similar — and read firmware without bricking units. If not, wait for Safety ECU (coming soon) or learn R/W elsewhere first.

The shift

Stop pasting files. Start calibrating.

906 minutes from now, you open any firmware and know where to look, what to change, and why. That is the shift. €840. One payment. Certificate at the end.
